LAAT has been set up to be able to support both Church and Community Schools. With out deeply held belief that each school should be its own unique place in its own unique community,  we are well placed to develop and protect your Community School status. As a Community school joining LAAT, you will benefit from the full offer available for all Church schools. Church schools and Community schools both place children and families at the heart of their offer and can do this side by side.

With the Lincoln DBE MAT strategy outlining the ‘desire and preference’ for Church school to join a Diocesan MAT, we offer a home for schools who would like to formalise their Church school family network by joining a Diocesan MAT with a proven track record in Church Education. Good Church school with an eye on planning for the future and to provide strong and stable home for their school, join LAAT because they are forward thinking and wish to secure the future of their school for years to come.

Good schools still need MATs. The overwhelming majority of our schools are good or better with many providing excellence not only across the MAT sector but across the three LAs our schools serve.  Many have joined as Good schools and some have become Good or better on their journey with us. Good Church schools should join our MAT to further strengthen their position and to use the power of collective enterprise to secure the future of their school. Good schools still have room to grow and enrich their offer for children and communities and whilst this can be achieved to some extent by yourself, being part of something bigger brings stability, opportunity and potential.

There is no doubt that Church school leadership is both a joy and a challenge. We know that sometimes, along a school’s history, it may encounter challenges that require support that the Local Authority can no longer provide. We know how to help schools like this; whether this is to secure leadership, build capacity, add educational value, plan for financial stability or strengthen governance and have a strong history of supporting schools like this that then act as beacons to other schools, sharing their expertise and becoming a significant strength.

At LAAT, we know that joining a multi-academy trust as a secondary school comes with unique needs. Differences in age groups, curriculum, and operational complexity mean your priorities will be distinct.

We know that support with exam preparation, GCSEs, and post-16 pathways is critical. Our Education Team brings extensive experience in secondary school improvement, leadership development, and subject-specific expertise, and can assist in developing a broad and balanced curriculum that prepares students for progression into college, apprenticeships, or the workplace.

Our Estates Team is well-equipped to support larger campuses that require more extensive facilities management, ensuring that your school’s environment meets the needs of students and staff alike.

We also recognise the unique pastoral requirements of secondary education, including safeguarding adolescents, mental health support, and preparing students for independence.
