Canon Peter Hall CofE Primary School named Lead School for Music by Humber Music Hub

Canon Peter Hall CofE Primary School, part of Lincoln Anglican Academy Trust, has been selected by the Humber Music Hub to become a Lead School for Music – an exciting opportunity that recognises the school’s outstanding music provision.

As a Lead School, Canon Peter Hall will play a central role in championing, nurturing, and developing music education across local schools and educational settings. The appointment underscores the school’s dedication to offering high-quality music experiences for all pupils and its success in integrating music as a joyful and integral part of school life.

The Humber Music Hub is a collaborative partnership made up of schools, local authorities, community groups, music organisations, industry partners, and more, coordinated by the Hub Lead Organisation (HLO), Hull Music Service. The hub’s mission is to ensure that every child and young person in the Humber region can access high-quality music education.

Nationally, the 43 new Hub Lead Organisations will share over £101 million in government investment, aimed at delivering classroom and extracurricular music provision, establishing ensembles, and providing teacher training.

Headteacher Tracey Grove said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for our children and a real recognition of the incredible work of our Music Lead, Lisa Oliver. Her passion for music and dedication to the children has transformed our music curriculum. Our recent end-of-year music showcase was a powerful reminder of the talent we have in school – the confidence and skill with which our children performed made me so proud. Being named a Lead School for Music affirms what we already believe: music at Canon Peter Hall is something special.”

“I’m delighted to see that Canon Peter Hall has been recognised for its excellent music offering. This appointment is not only a celebration of their vibrant music provision, but also a chance to inspire and support other schools in the region. It’s a great example of how a school can lead with both heart and excellence.” Said Jackie Waters-Dewhurst, CEO of LAAT

The school’s music culture is visible throughout the year, with vibrant whole-school singing, celebratory performances, and enthusiastic pupil participation.
