Apprenticeships are a key part of our approach to developing talent, supporting career progression, and investing in the future of education, and we are incredibly proud to celebrate our apprentices’ achievements.
Our first cohort of digital apprentices has all passed with distinction, a fantastic accomplishment that reflects their dedication and commitment to learning. We are also delighted that Rachel Street, Business and Operations Manager, has been named Manager of the Year by our apprenticeship partner Primary Goal. In addition, Elle Gallant has received the Outstanding Achievement Award from Lincoln Bishop University.
These outstanding results and awards are a testament to the hard work, determination and commitment of our colleagues, who continually strive to go Above and Beyond, for themselves, their schools, the Trust, and most importantly for the children in our care.
Rachel was nominated for Manager of the Year by one of the apprentices she supports, who said: “From the start, she made it clear that my development mattered to her. She never treated my apprenticeship as something to work around and always made time for me, even when she was busy. She created an atmosphere where I could learn at my own pace.”
“When I doubted myself, she encouraged me, and she always celebrated my successes and learning. The stand-out moments were not the big milestones, but the small and genuine acts of support – a reassuring conversation, patience when I was struggling, and celebrating even the smallest progress. She believed in me even when I didn’t believe in myself, and that made all the difference.”
Elle’s award nomination was made by Janet Atkinson, Senior Lecturer at Lincoln Bishop University, who said: “Eleanor deserves the Outstanding Achievement Award because she has demonstrated exceptional growth, professionalism and impact. She consistently delivers high-quality teaching, contributes meaningfully to school life, and shows unwavering dedication to both her pupils and the profession.”
Elle is currently balancing her QTS apprenticeship, a full-time teaching role and family life, while continuing to achieve remarkable success.
Reflecting on her award, Elle said: “I am very thankful for my amazing husband and children who support me every step of the way. Without my school-based mentor, Rebecca Farr, and my wonderful colleagues at East Ravendale, I would not have achieved this award. They help me be the best version of myself, even on the tough days.”
“I work alongside another class teacher, sharing our class, which allows me to bring my own strengths to my practice and learn from the professional colleagues around me. Seeing the children’s progress is hugely rewarding, and that’s why I love my job so much.”
Jackie Waters-Dewhurst, CEO of Lincoln Anglican Academy Trust, praised the achievements of the Trust’s apprentices: “I am in awe of these members of the LAAT family. Their commitment and hard work are beyond impressive, and they represent the dedication I see every day across our Trust. I genuinely believe there is no team more committed to going Above and Beyond.”
