This Christmas, students at Ruskington Chestnut Street C of E Primary Academy, a member of the Lincoln Anglican Academy Trust, prepared over 40 Christmas boxes to be given to residents of Chestnuts Care Home. Children from Years 4 and 5 personally delivered the boxes they had made, hoping to spread some Christmas cheer.
As well as delivering their gifts, the children sang carols and Christmas songs for the residents during the much-appreciated visit.
Ruskington Chestnut Street C of E Primary Academy received a letter from one of the residents’ daughters detailing just how much their kindness meant to the people living at the care home. The letter also gave a fascinating insight into their life and all the major historical events they’d lived through.
The Lincoln Anglican Academic Trust prides itself on encompassing schools that go above and beyond to give back to the local community. Ruskington Chestnut Street C of E Primary Academy’s kindness and activity within the community perfectly meets the criteria the LAAT has set for all of its schools.
