East Ravendale‘s Katie Woadden wins Bronze in Pearson National Teaching Awards

East Ravendale’s Katie Woadden has been honoured with a Bronze Award in the Pearson National Teaching Awards. Out of over 240,000 nominations, Katie’s exceptional dedication and passion for teaching have earned her this well-deserved recognition. Having been nominated by Executive Head Teacher, Ann-Marie Wilson, Katie becomes the first teacher in the Lincoln Anglican Academy Trust to win such an award.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of The Teaching Awards Trust, and its vision remains the same: to create a society that values and celebrates the outstanding work in education across the UK. The Teaching Awards Trust believes that teaching and support staff in early years, schools, and colleges should feel appreciated, celebrated, and proud of the significant impact they make every day.

The surprise announcement was made during a celebration assembly, where children, staff, and parents joined together in applause for Katie. This special moment showcased the deep appreciation everyone at East Ravendale has for Katie and the work she does.

Katie is renowned for going above and beyond for her students. Each year, she orchestrates a magical experience where children write letters to someone in ‘Santa’s circle.’ Using information provided by parents, Katie crafts personalised responses, creating a special and memorable experience for the children and their families. Parents have expressed their gratitude for Katie’s efforts in keeping this tradition alive, highlighting her commitment to making learning a magical and engaging experience.

In addition to her classroom role, Katie serves as an SSA for English across LAAT, playing a pivotal role in supporting schools to enhance their English curricula. Her contributions have been instrumental in improving the quality of education and fostering a love for learning among students.

Katie’s recognition is a testament to her exceptional dedication and the positive influence she has on her students and the wider educational community. Congratulations are extended to Katie, and thanks are given for her unwavering commitment to excellence in education.
