Last week, children at Weston St Mary Church of England Primary school, a member of the Lincoln Anglican Academy Trust (LAAT), took part in an Easter colouring competition put together by Emerald Homes. The competition saw pupils designing their own Easter eggs, with prizes being given out for the best ones.
The winning entries were chosen by Jo and Shane of Emerald homes. Those that won the competition each received a large Easter egg, with all other students receiving a smaller Easter egg for taking part. All the children were excited to be involved and receive an Easter treat – no matter what size!
Weston St Mary and Emerald Homes have been working side by side for the last 18 months, with this being the third competition Emerald Homes have set up for the children – allowing them to express themselves creatively. Previous competitions include a pumpkin carving contest and naming rights for their new housing complex.
As well as supporting the school with different activities, Emerald Homes recently donated £2000 to Weston St Mary Church of England Primary school, allowing for the purchase of new outdoor equipment. The close relationship between Weston St Mary’s and Emerald Homes is of great benefit to the children and is essential for maintaining a strong sense of community people can feel proud to be a part of.
Weston St Mary Church of England Primary school became a member of LAAT in September 2014. LAAT is a thriving multi-academy trust, set up by the Diocese of Lincoln in 2013, to build a mutually supportive family of academies in Greater Lincolnshire who support each other in providing the very best outcomes for their pupils. Currently, around 4,042 pupils across 20 schools are part of the LAAT
