At LAAT, inclusion is not just a principle – it is embedded in the heart of everything we do. We are a fully inclusive Trust, committed to ensuring that every pupil and colleague feels seen, valued, and empowered to thrive.

Our approach is guided by our ‘mirrors and windows’ philosophy:

• Mirrors allow our pupils and staff to see themselves reflected in the curriculum, environment, and leadership around them, affirming identity, celebrating uniqueness, and fostering self-worth.
• Windows offer glimpses into lives, experiences, and cultures different from our own – opening hearts and minds to diversity, empathy, and a deeper understanding of the world.

To bring this vision to life, we offer a rich programme of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives. These include inclusive literature, whole-school events, enrichment opportunities, and targeted training for staff to promote an environment where everyone can flourish.

We work closely with Lyfta, to bring these aims to life and to provide a virtual opportunity for every pupil and colleague to develop their global understanding and become well-informed, diverse in their thinking and truly understanding in their behaviours.
