After nine successful years, Jackie Waters-Dewhurst is relinquishing her position as Director of Education (DDE) for the Diocese of Lincoln Board of Education to focus on her role as Chief Executive Officer of the Lincoln Anglican Academy Trust (LAAT). As DDE, Jackie set up the LAAT in 2013 as a Multi Academy Trust to meet the needs of Church schools across Greater Lincolnshire. Since then, Jackie and her dedicated team have overseen the development of LAAT into a thriving, mutually supportive community of academies, committed to providing the very best education in an atmosphere of inclusion and a celebration of uniqueness at an individual and school level.
As continuing CEO, Jackie is looking forward to focusing on the future expansion of the LAAT. She comments: “I am delighted to continue in my role as CEO and to work with my team to grow our membership and help more pupils achieve their full potential as part of a bigger community of schools with strong Christian values.”
The Bishop of Lincoln, the Rt Revd Christopher Lowson, who appointed Jackie as DDE in 2012, says: “I am very grateful for all that Jackie has given to the communities of our Church schools since her arrival. With characteristic hard work and good sense of humour, she has presided over a positive transformation in our relationships with our partners in parishes, local authorities and with the Regional Schools’ Commissioner. All this has profoundly enhanced the experience of our children and young people.”
