LAAT starts 2024 with new Vision and Values

The vision of Excellence, Exploration and Encouragement, which we have shared with the Diocesan Board of Education, has served us well over the past 10 years.

The three Es are known and used across our schools and central team and have a meaningful resonance with the work we do. However, over the past few years they do not fully encapsulate who LAAT has become and what it will need to be to fully meet needs into the next decade.

More and more we have talked of EQUITY. More and more we are faced with inequality in our society and more and more we are driven to try to prevent this societal inequality from damaging the life chances of our children and young people.

When working on the vision we held 3 face to face sessions; with school leaders, central team and directors. We sent questionnaires out to parents and pupils in years 2, 6 and 9, all school-based staff, all governors and church partners.

The results were clear: LAAT was seen as equitable, family, forward thinking, innovative, inclusive, diverse, compassionate, empowering, and ambitious. People were able to give examples of how the Trust had supported them, and those around them. People felt seen and understood – even through difficult conversations.

OUR NEW VISION

The LAAT window allows us to see:

  • The past, on which we build
  • The present, for us and for others
  • The future we seek to become.

Grounded in faith, we seek to see and understand all in our diverse communities and beyond.

Every pupil has the right to flourish; academically, physically, emotionally, and spiritually, through an educational experience based on Excellence, Exploration and Encouragement.

Every pupil has the right to receive what they need. And every child will need different things at different times. Providing this, is Equity at work.

Excellence, Exploration and Encouragement powered by Equity.

OUR NEW VALUES

These are not values we aspire to, they are the words that members of our tribe have used to describe our Trust. They are our DNA. They inform every action and decision we take. To our staff they are the standards by which we operate, to our leaders they are our code of conduct.
