Could you make a difference to the lives of our learners?

Weston St Mary is a small school with a big heart. We are seeking to appoint a talented and dynamic Head of School at Weston St Mary from the start of the 2024-25 academic year. As well as having day-to-day oversight of the leadership and management of the school, you will also work closely, with the support of the Executive Headteacher, to develop an exciting, happy, successful and creative school.

You will be joining a very ambitious and forward-thinking organisation, so we are seeking outstanding candidates who want to develop themselves to support our educational vision, provide strong leadership and effective support to colleagues and raise standards for our pupils.

Weston St Mary has a very strong relationship with its nearby neighbour, Whaplode C of E Primary School, and the school shares an Executive Headteacher. You will be part of a strong and supportive Senior Leadership Team who work closely together across the two schools.

This would be an excellent opportunity for an ambitious existing Senior Leader to work alongside our Executive Headteacher to develop excellent leadership skills and to further their career development.

Continuing to teach part time is an important aspect of the Head of School role at Weston St Mary and you will be able to demonstrate inspirational practice in this area. A strength in Maths would also be an advantage as you will also have an opportunity to lead a subject across the two schools

For an informal discussion about the role, or to arrange a visit, please contact Abbie Muir, Executive Headteacher on abbie.muir@laat.co.uk or on 01406 370333.

In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2023, please be advised that if shortlisted, we will carry out internet searches to support our commitment to safer recruitment. Please note that the purpose of this is to identify any incidents or issues that have happened, and are publicly available online, which the school might want to explore with applicants at interview. Internet searches will be carried out by someone who is not directly involved in the recruitment process and only relevant information will be shared with the interview panel.
