Edenham CofE Primary School has been praised by Ofsted for its commitment to high-quality education and pupil success following a recent inspection. Inspectors confirmed that the school has taken effective action to maintain the ‘Good’ standards identified in its previous inspection, highlighting the strong leadership, ambitious curriculum, and positive learning environment.
Ofsted commended both the school and the Lincoln Anglican Academy Trust (LAAT) for their dedication, stating: “Governors and trustees share the school’s high aspirations for pupils. They know the school well. They hold leaders closely to account while supporting them in taking appropriate action to continue the school’s improvement. This has helped to ensure that effective action has been taken to maintain the standards identified at the time of the previous inspection.”
LAAT CEO Jackie Waters-Dewhurst said: “We are incredibly proud of Edenham CofE Primary School and the dedication of its staff, pupils, and wider community. This report reflects the school’s strong values and commitment to providing an excellent education where every child is supported to flourish. At LAAT, we believe in empowering schools to be at the heart of their communities, and Edenham is a fantastic example of this in action.”
The report also praised the “school’s talented staff”, noting their skill in modelling language use and fostering a love of stories and rhymes. Inspectors highlighted how teachers use interesting and useful vocabulary to engage and inspire pupils.
The school’s ambitious curriculum was recognised, with Ofsted noting:
“Teachers have secure subject knowledge and present information clearly. They design activities that typically help pupils to remember what they have learned.”
High expectations for behaviour and attendance were also acknowledged. Inspectors found that pupils demonstrate positive attitudes towards their learning, show resilience when facing challenges, and benefit from a culture where success is encouraged and celebrated. This focus on character-building starts in early years and is reinforced throughout pupils’ time at the school.
Headteacher Michael Pasqualino commented: “We are delighted that Ofsted has recognised the hard work and dedication of our staff, pupils, and families. At Edenham, we strive to create a nurturing, ambitious, and supportive learning environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their full potential. This report is a testament to the incredible efforts of our school community, and we will continue to build on this success.”
In summary, Ofsted described Edenham CofE Primary School as a “warm and welcoming small school” where its vision of ‘love of learning, love of the community, prepared for the future’ is fully realised.
