The report highlighted the school’s values of peace, humility, trust, service, and compassion, which play a central role in shaping the daily experiences of students.
Ofsted reported that “Leaders have a clear vision for the school. This vision focuses on providing pupils with the best opportunities they can have in life”. The school demonstrated high expectations for behaviour, and students responded positively by displaying good conduct and trusting that any instances of poor behaviour or bullying would be promptly addressed by the staff. The school emphasised open communication, ensuring that students felt comfortable sharing any concerns with the staff, and building trusting relationships with the early years children.
The inspection report acknowledged the school’s ambitious curriculum, designed to equip students with important knowledge and skills. After the COVID-19 lockdowns, the school conducted a thorough review of the curriculum to address any knowledge gaps among students. As a result, the revised curriculum and teaching methods have had a positive impact on students’ work, their ability to recall and apply knowledge, and their overall understanding of the subjects.
The school demonstrated a strong commitment to inclusivity and support for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). SEND students received appropriate provisions and participated in sporting and musical activities alongside their peers. The school’s dedication to personal, social, health, and economic education, including celebrating differences and promoting healthy lifestyles, was highly commendable. Educational visits and practical learning experiences enriched the students’ educational journey.
The school’s vision focuses on providing students with the best opportunities they can have in life. Leaders prioritised staff well-being and workload management, ensuring a positive working environment. The report recognised the effective safeguarding arrangements in place, as well as the school’s proactive collaboration with external agencies to support students and their families.
