We believe in a world of mutual respect

LAAT is deeply troubled by the civil unrest across the country. We believe in a world of mutual respect where there is space for all. We believe that everyone has the right to a good life, free from fear and danger and full of hope and opportunity. There are some in society who feel that they have not been treated fairly by those in control and that feeling may not be unfounded.

However, there are those who have deliberately and cynically, for their own ends, stirred up racial division instead of working to put right where our society does not work for all in the way it should. In Lincolnshire, as in the whole country, our Muslim brothers and sisters work to support our communities, add great value culturally and economically and deserve to be valued alongside our wider community. This is what we teach our children – that every one of us is made in the image of God and loved by him. This is what we will continue to teach them as they come back to us in September.

For now we will continue to stand by what we believe and pray that love will conquer and that the hatred of the few will be drowned out by the love and goodness of the many. The central team is available throughout the summer holidays as is the APL helpline. If any of our LAAT tribe need support please do reach out.
